MEXT's “EU-Japan Practical Leadership Program for Well-being through Reproductive and Environmental Sciences” has been selected by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) for the 2024 “INTER-UNIVERSITY EXCHANGE PROJECT”.
Under this program, in collaboration with three European universities (University of Murcia, Sorbonne University's Faculty of Science, and University of Toulouse), we will conduct web-based hybrid classes for graduate students, as well as short-stay internships and mid- to long-term stay special research. The Graduate School of Environment, Life, Natural Science and Technology, the Graduate School of Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering in Health Systems, the Graduate School of Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmaceutical Sciences, and the Graduate School of Health Sciences will develop new initiatives that transcend majors, fields, and campuses.
The objective of this project is to train the next generation of frontier human resources who can contribute to solving the various issues related to the reproductive environment that organisms on Earth are currently facing, along with climate change. Through this project, students will acquire a broad knowledge of environmental factors such as endocrine disrupters and socioeconomic factors that affect the reproductive environment (including social system issues), as well as practical approaches and skills based on various perspectives, including different views of life.
In addition, this project aims to form and strengthen the Japan-EU network to promote the discovery and accumulation of reproductive environmental scientific knowledge that contributes to the well-being of humankind and the development and application of related advanced scientific and medical technologies, as well as to enhance research capabilities and realize co-education and co-creation.
